Aussie Solo Travellers on Wheels. One Woman’s Inspiring Story

It was a moment of reality. “I thought what have I done”.

Mary Fox’s life changed five years ago when her husband suddenly passed away. They had travelled extensively together. Despite suddenly finding herself single, she decided she wasn’t prepared to just sit around. She came across a group called Rolling Solos. It’s a group of single women who travel the country in a motorhome. After selling her home, she joined the other 15,000 followers of the group and invested in a motorhome.

It’s when she drove off in her new four wheel drive home on wheels, that reality struck. “If someone had told me a few years ago I would be doing this, I would have said they were daft”.

Since the start of her new travelling adventure two years ago, Mary says she hasn’t looked back. Living on just a pension, everyday is now a new adventure. Exciting places to see, meeting new people and catching up with old friends and family along the way as she travels the country.,

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary while camping in the Fitzgerald National Park on the south coast of Western Australia. She agreed to share her story….

Photos above include Fitzgerald National Park and surrounding region in southern Western Australia.
