Kununurra and Beyond… The Aussie Gap Year continues….

Back on the road again…. yaaaay! Our Senior Aussie Gap Year continues. It’s so good to be back in the great Australian outback again. We’ve since just updated our rig to enjoy a little more comfort but still with all the benefit and flexibility of a full four wheel drive.

More on our rig later where I’ll show you around this amazing compact go anywhere four wheel drive home on the back of a small pickup truck ute. So compact you can literally live on the tray but enjoy the cosy comfort of queen size bed. Plus, there’s a kitchen area with gas cooker, sink and fridge and hot water service, a gas heater for those chilly nights down south, and a hot water shower and toilet. All this and no towing required!

We’ve made our way up the Stuart Highway from Perth via Adelaide in South Australia to now here in Kununurra in the northern end of Western Australia. This weekend we take off down stream on a three day canoe adventure down the Ord River. We start at Lake Argyle, 18 times the size of Sydney Harbour, and then make our way 55kms down to Kununurra. We’ll be keen to keep an eye out for crocs on the way, especially at our overnight camp sites on the side of the river. More on our adventure later….

I look forward to you joining us again as we continue to share our travel experiences with you.
