I wanted to share the journey with people like you because of a couple reasons.
Firstly, it was never my intent to write a book. In fact it was never my intent to take a gap year. Of course in my case, my senior gap year! But life is full of surprises. The gap year, backpacking around the world, was an absolute one of life’s highlight.
As I traveled around, one question kept coming up. Our young generation are out their in their thousands crisscrossing the globe. Why is it, I thought, as we grey up top, we are letting our young generation have all the fun? When we too could be enjoying the adventure of really experiencing and learning about the world we live in. I couldn’t help feel we are seriously missing out.
So the book is not just about travel. It’s also about all those fears you and I have. The ones that stop us from simply stepping out the door. And it invites you to experience the liberating feeling of escaping from the normal routines of life. To feel the sense of being free to just go as you please. To discover and learn about new and exciting places. Interesting people. Fascinating cultures. Issue that confront and challenge us. And, as you may expect, to share with you the many humorous instances that happen along the way!
